YOU have got to watch this!

This, is SO TRUE and so funny. If only I could join this group, maybe I could get into "recovery" too. LOL!

My only comment would be "That's all fine and dandy (and I agree), right up until you can't walk cause you're feet are killing you, or your knees won't carry you up the stairs. Then it's not about vanity or society, it's about YOU and how you need less weight on your frame just to enjoy life."

Additionally: I would like to add that it's interesting that now many of us are 'stuck in the middle'. We don't necessarily want to cave into society's thin expectations of us (but we may want to lose weight). And we don't necessarily want to be pressured into accepting outselves as fat and that's that. If I want to lose weight that doesn't mean I don't love myself the way I am. Or that I hate fat people. It doesn't mean I think fat people are unhealthy, or unacceptable or should be disrespected. It means I know I'm unhealthy and I don't want to accept one more day of pain without doing something actively to fix it. If that means losing weight, so be it... at some point it may become a necessity for anyone.

These videos are to promote fat acceptance. Your comment about how she is not that fat amuses me. It is funny how people see themselves and others. To the same society that causes the need for fat acceptance finds her very fat...you may be bigger and I may be smaller, but somehow we are all discriminated against just the same. I think it is wonderful that she is out there making these videos, forcing cruel people to see that we are all people with the right to be who we are, even those of us hidden under layers of fat.

You are losing weight because of your feet and your desire to be more mobile. I am losing weight as a side effect of diabetes treatments. This does not make us any better than those out there who chose to be happy at any size...and while we are still fat, we deserve the right to feel safe in our bodies, just like everyone else.

I think your comments on these videos are ignorant and unkind to a movement that is making waves all over the Internet....

My response to the comment above would just be that I'm not ignorant to the fact that many people can/will/should accept themselves the way that they are, but that the reality is choosing to love yourself at any size will not negate the consequences of being that size. I love myself the size I am, but I don't love the consequences... and if ended up with diabetes, painful joints, etc, etc... I wouldn't love myself less, but I would be disappointed with the consequences for sure.
